Logistics Software: From partnership to successful business in the logistics industry

Not every logistics software project starts with an idea or an existing business. Some start because of a built relationship, similar interests and a shared vision.

Not every logistics software project starts with an idea or an existing business. Some start because of a built relationship, similar interests and a shared vision.

What us Hublock?

Let’s shake things up a bit, shall we? Instead of starting with the boring company spiel, let’s kick off with some juicy gossip about the masterminds behind this project.

Meet Matthias, the bossman of not one, but TWO logistics software companies in Poland and Germany. That’s right, he’s a logistics juggernaut. And don’t even get me started on his success. The man practically oozes it. So much so that he’s able to take on other projects without even breaking a sweat. Impressive, right?

But hold onto your hats, folks. We’ve got another hero on the team – Nick, our very own CEO and Superhero. And let me tell you, he’s not your average Joe. Nick’s like a wizard who can dismantle your business and put it back together again in a snap. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of working with us, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

So there you have it, folks. Our dynamic duo. They may be a bit unconventional, but they sure know how to get the job done. And with these two at the helm, we’re pretty confident we’re gonna knock this project out of the park.

Logistics Software

How did they get together?

Once upon a time, there was a logistics software kingpin named Matthias. He had already conquered the web app world with his project, which allowed users to send packages by piggybacking on someone else’s ride. But there was one small problem – he needed a mobile app to take things to the next level. That’s where we came in, with our ad catching his eye and our tech skills catching his heart.

Matthias wasn’t new to this whole software development thing, oh no. He knew exactly what he wanted and lucky for him, we were the perfect match. We got to work and before you knew it, that mobile app was up and running like a well-oiled machine. But we weren’t satisfied with just creating the app and dusting off our hands. Oh no, we wanted to be part of the process, from development to promotion.

So when Matthias suggested a meeting in the Polish mountains, our fearless leader Mikołaj didn’t even bat an eyelash. He packed up his bags and hit the road, ready to talk shop and soak up some mountain vibes. And let me tell you, that meeting was a game-changer. The app was catapulted to new heights and Matthias was over the moon with the results.

And that, my friends, is how a chance encounter turned into a beautiful partnership. The end.

Logistics Software

Hublock’s first vision

Once upon a time, there were two logistics software gurus, Nick and Matthias, who were chatting over coffee and complaining about the same old problems in the industry. “Why can’t it be easier? Why can’t it be better?” they cried. And then, a lightbulb moment struck – why not team up and create something amazing together?

Now, you might be thinking, “Oh boy, here comes the next big startup idea.” But wait, there’s more! It was the time of ICOs, where everyone and their mother was getting funded by cryptocurrencies. And guess what? Our dynamic duo had some serious crypto experience under their belts. Nikolai was building a currency exchange and they both knew their way around the crypto world.

So, they put their heads together and came up with an idea – why not use blockchain technology in the logistics industry? It would eliminate the possibility of shady dealings and misinformation. All transactions would be based on technology, making it impossible for anyone to mess with the data. Genius, right?

But wait, it gets even better. Nowadays, it’s hard to build trust with customers in the logistics industry. So, they thought, why not let the technology do the talking? No more changing opinions or driver information – blockchain would take care of it all.

And thus, Hublock was born – the ultimate solution to all your logistics woes. Nick and Matthias, with their superpowers combined, brought blockchain to the industry and changed the game forever.

Let’s make a plan

Picture this: two logistics software geniuses, Nick and Matthias, are brainstorming like mad scientists. They’ve got a million and one ideas, but no solid plan.

They had more ideas than a kid in a candy store, but still no solid plan. They created so many boards on Miro that they could probably wallpaper their entire office with them. But let’s be real, it was like trying to solve a Rubik’s cube blindfolded – too many problems and solutions in one place.

They were trying to find a way to combine their logistical and technical know-how with the solutions already on the market. They wanted to create the ultimate solution that would make everyone’s life easier. But they changed directions so many times that they could barely remember where they started. It was like trying to follow a GPS that keeps recalculating the route every five minutes.

Finally, they decided to get down to business and started creating mockups. And guess what? They realized that blockchain was totally unnecessary. Other technologies could do the job just as well, and it would simplify the process of building the app. It was like realizing you don’t need a fancy gadget when a good old-fashioned tool will do the trick.

And that, my friends, is how the logistics software legends, Nick and Matthias, tackled the ultimate problem-solving challenge. They may not have had a concrete plan, but they had each other, tons of ideas, and a willingness to keep trying until they found the perfect solution.

First, collect feedback!

Now, you might be thinking, “Wait a minute, Matthias is a logistics big shot. He knows the industry inside out. Why would he need to ask anyone else what they need?” But here’s the thing – even the greatest minds need to take their own advice sometimes.

We always tell our clients, “If you want to build something that people actually want to use, ask them what they need.” So, Matthias and Nick hit the road and headed to trade shows in Warsaw, Cologne, and Frankfurt. And get this – they didn’t even have a product to show off. All they had was a prototype built in Adobe.

But hey, they’re not ones to shy away from a challenge. They rented their own booth and presented their idea to anyone who would listen. They even got to chat with some bigwigs, like Rossman’s Technical Director, and gathered opinions on how to get the big players interested in the app.

So, moral of the story? Even if you’re a logistics software legend, it never hurts to ask for feedback from the people who matter most – the customers. And who knows, you might just end up with a killer app that everyone can’t live without.

Logistics Software

Getting Started

Let me set the scene for you. Nick and Matthias are in the thick of it now, working on their app like it’s the most important thing in the world. They’ve enlisted two developers to help them out, including one from our very own team at GMI. But get this – he used to be a driver in the logistics software industry. Talk about having the inside scoop.

Now, at this point, the scope of work is constantly changing. It’s like trying to hit a moving target. They’re building features, testing them, and then rebuilding them. It’s a never-ending cycle of tweaking and tinkering.

Their first goal was to create the ability to exchange orders between companies. But, as always, they came up with a new idea that would determine the entire look of the product. It was like a light bulb moment, except it happened over and over again.

So, what’s the moral of the story here? Well, when it comes to creating something amazing, it’s a never-ending process of trial and error. And if you’re lucky enough to have a team with a diverse range of skills and experiences, you might just end up with a product that’s truly out of this world. The end (for now).

If you’re not in the logistics industry, you probably have no idea how it works. I mean, some companies still use Excel or paper to manage their entire operation. Can you believe it? It’s like trying to run a marathon in flip flops.

But fear not, because Nick and Matthias are here to save the day. They decided to automate the process, using their mad skills with tools like Zapier and to create an automation tool that would make even the most organized person jealous.

Here’s how it works. Every time a package appears in the system, the automation tool kicks into gear. It can automatically assign a driver, inform the customer, or send a notification to the warehouse. It’s like having your own personal assistant, but for logistics.

And get this – it’s all thanks to tiles, triggers, filters, and actions that are connected to each other on a board that visualizes the entire process. It’s like playing a game of connect the dots, except instead of a cute picture, you end up with an organized logistics software operation.

But wait, there’s more! Of course, the data in the system doesn’t magically appear out of thin air. They had to implement a way to import data. But luckily, they didn’t have to build it from scratch. They used a solution that lets them pull data from a file or through an API. It’s like having a genie in a bottle, but instead of granting wishes, it pulls data.

So there you have it, folks. Nick and Matthias have revolutionized the logistics software industry with their automation tool, making it easier and more organized than ever before. And who knows, maybe they’ll tackle Excel and paper next.

Logistics Software

Management system

Oh baby, buckle up because Nick and Matthias have done it again. They’ve tackled the biggest headache in the logistics industry – Excel. That’s right, they’re on a mission to get rid of all those pesky spreadsheets and provide a management solution that’ll make your head spin (in a good way, of course).

Picture this – you’re an operator in a logistics company, and you’re tired of drowning in a sea of Excels. Enter Hublock. With just a few clicks, you can add all your warehouses, drivers, vehicles, and customers to the system. It’s like having your own personal assistant, but instead of getting you coffee, it manages your shipments.

So say goodbye to those Excel nightmares and hello to Hublock. It’s like a breath of fresh air in the logistics industry, and Nick and Matthias are leading the charge. Who knows what they’ll tackle next? Maybe they’ll take on the fax machine.

Logistics Software

Driver app

To complete the picture, they also created a mobile application for drivers. Here’s how it works. The operator prepares a list of tasks for the day, and the driver gets them on his phone. He scans the shipment with his phone, and boom – the system knows exactly what to do next. It’s like magic, except it’s not. It’s just good old-fashioned innovation.

But wait, there’s more! This app also lets the operator track the shipment in real-time. No more calling the driver every five minutes to see where he is. It’s like having a GPS for your shipment.

So, let’s recap. Nick and Matthias have created an automation tool that makes managing shipments a breeze, a management solution that gets rid of those pesky Excel sheets, and now a mobile app that makes a driver’s job easier and lets the operator track shipments in real-time. Is there anything these two can’t do? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Logistics Software app

At first, the app was only tested by drivers from Matthias’ company. It’s like the saying goes – practice makes perfect. Matthias was in constant contact with his drivers, which allowed him to collect feedback and quickly fix bugs. And boy, did it pay off.

Now, Hublock’s biggest customer is a logistics company from the UK, and they’re delivering shipments for Siemens. That’s right, Siemens – the big kahuna of the tech world. But Nick and Matthias aren’t stopping there. They want to attract even more companies, especially small and medium ones.

Why, you ask? Well, the goal is to create a data sharing system. It’s like a secret club for logistics companies, where you can share data and know exactly where drivers are headed. It’s like having a crystal ball that tells you the future. Okay, maybe not quite, but you get the idea.

So there you have it, folks. Nick and Matthias are on a mission to revolutionize the logistics industry, and they’re well on their way to doing just that. Who knows what they’ll come up with next? Maybe they’ll invent a teleportation device for shipments

Hublock = GMI

And there you have it, folks – the epic story of Hublock, brought to you by the dynamic duo of Nick and Matthias. They started out with just an idea and a lot of coffee, but now they’ve got a successful logistics company that’s changing the game.

They tackled Excel, automated shipments, created a mobile app for drivers, and even have big-time clients like Siemens. And with all that success comes the opportunity to grow even more. They’re ready to hire some top-notch people for sales and marketing, but they’re not changing the development team.

Who knows what the future holds for Hublock? Maybe they’ll invent a flying truck that delivers shipments straight to your doorstep. Okay, maybe that’s a bit of a stretch, but you get the idea.

So, let’s raise a glass to Nick and Matthias – the innovators, the disruptors, the kings of logistics. Who knows what they’ll come up with next? The sky’s the limit (or maybe even outer space).
